Auto follow-up helps you continue an approved conversation when the recipient has not replied. It is off by default for each project and applies only to opening emails sent after you enable it.

Enable it for a project

1

Open Auto follow-up

Open a project or its draft in Write emails. Find Auto follow-up.
2

Choose the time zone

Choose the project time zone, such as Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh. Scouty initially suggests your current time zone.
3

Enable follow-ups

Select Enable follow-ups and confirm. Only new opening emails with an explicitly approved sequence can start automatic follow-up.

Draft and approve the sequence

  1. Select Draft 3 follow-ups with AI.
  2. Review all three messages.
  3. Edit each message as needed, then select Save follow-ups.
  4. Select Approve all 3 follow-ups and confirm Approve sequence.
  5. Send the original opening email.
The sequence starts only after the original email is confirmed as sent. If you send the opening email without an approved sequence, Scouty does not schedule follow-ups for it later. Editing the original subject or body invalidates the previous approval. Save or regenerate the three messages and approve them again.

Schedule rules

  • Scouty can send at most three follow-ups after the opening email.
  • Each message waits at least 72 hours after the previous confirmed send.
  • Messages send Monday through Friday between 09:00 and 17:00 in the project time zone.
  • A due time outside that window moves to the next valid working time.
  • If sending was unavailable at the scheduled time, Scouty does not send several missed messages at once.
The conversation displays 0/3 through 3/3 sent, the next scheduled time, current status, approved content, and a reason when the sequence stops.

Conditions that stop the sequence

Scouty stops pending follow-ups when it detects any of these conditions:
  • any recipient reply, including an out-of-office response;
  • a bounce, complaint, or request to stop contact;
  • a meeting booked for the conversation;
  • a manual email sent in the conversation;
  • the conversation marked handled;
  • auto follow-up turned off for the project;
  • Stop follow-ups selected for the sequence;
  • all three follow-ups sent.
If Scouty cannot confirm that it is safe to continue, it delays or stops the sequence and shows the reason in the conversation.
A message that is already being sent cannot be recalled. A reply that arrives after sending begins cannot cancel that message.

Turn it off or stop one sequence

Select Turn off follow-ups to stop all pending sequences in the project. Turning it on again affects only new opening emails and does not restart old sequences. Select Stop follow-ups inside a conversation to stop only that sequence. It does not restart automatically.
